One of the most picturesque sections of the city, this area is also of tremendous political and cultural interest, containing the Royal Palace, Chaktomuk Theatre and the National Assembly. The riverfront near the Palace has been developed as a beautiful little park with a variety of international and Cambodian restaurants lining Sisowath opposite the part. Also of note are several contemporary Cambodian art galleries and curio shops clustered along Street 178 next to the National Museum.
