The Independence Monument
Commemorating Cambodia’s war dead and celebrating freedom from foreign rule, the independence Monument is one of Phnom Penh’s most important and recognizable structures. The Park west and east of the monument are sites of constant activity. By the day people stroll the parks while joggers skirt the outer rim, in the evening.
Central Market
This is the commercial hub of Phnom Penh, marked by Central Market (Phsar Thmey) with its unique art deco architecture, banks, embassies and government offices are sprinkled along Norodom and Preah Monivong.
